William, an accomplished scholar, educator, author, philanthropist, and activist, dedicates his life to enriching the lives of single mothers; he fights against disproportionate childcare cost, employment iniquity, and housing inequity, the three most damaging barriers responsible for delaying their advancement. Before he founded The Single Mother Advancement Project (THESMAP), the former Chief Executive Officer and Navy veteran, used his powerful voice and influence to highlight the hidden unjust issues single mothers face daily. In his best-selling memoir, “Single But Unavailable”, he intimately describes why single mothers are America ’s most marginalized and ostracized victims.
William believes the strength of this single mothers’ alliance lies in the hearts and minds of everyone who refuses to stand idle while marginalization and prejudices dictate their lives. He commits his talents and resolve to laying a foundation to end these unfair practices and unites a true movement of multigenerational and multiracial supporters. He’s a visionary and driver of strategic results, and he leverages his talents as a social change agent through his active participation in this organization’s strategic vision and mission. He advocates education as the bedrock of social and economic development and lives by these words… “Don’t look down on others unless you’re extending a hand to pick them up!” William has earned Master’s degrees in Business Administration and Aerospace engineering, and undergraduate degrees in Aeronautical Science, Business Administration, and International Business. He is an alumnus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the University of Miami, and the University of Southern New Hampshire. Solution-driven, creative, pragmatic, and focused; he thrives in competitive and complex situations. William acts in an advisory capacity to Graduate schools providing insight into the creation of Business Administration programs with a focused concentration on Entrepreneurship and Sustainability. He's also a career planner and financial strategist, mentor and coach.
